Guide to Freeview (DTT) Radio
Now with FREEVIEW in the UK, you are given even more radio choice. There is no reason why you can’t add your set-top box to your hi-fi set-up and start hearing the lovely audio quality that is available to you.
Freeview now offers all the BBC National channels, including BBC Radio 1-BBC Radio 4, BBC 5 Live Extra and BBC Asian Network and a few independent stations (Smash Hits, Kiss, Kerrang, One Word,Jazz FM, Q Music, The Hits Radio and Magic!). Adding these to your current FM/AM choice of stations will dramatically increase your radio listening pleasure. |

Recently I have seen the bit rates that FREEVIEW are using for their radio stations, and they seem to be very similar, if not identical to the DAB bit-rates. However, on a side by side test, DTT seems to be allot better quality in richness and depth of sound (though some people, in order to always defend DAB, say that the DAB equivalent stations are better!)
Hopefully in the future, there will be more stations coming to the DTT platform. It’s easy for you to use, and there’s no reason why it can’t become a part of your audio/visual system, and used as an extra radio receiver.

Conclusion
Although little has been said really about the DTT option, it has allot to offer anyone who cannot get DSAT or DAB for any reason. So far, it offers a number of radio stations, and they are a nice selection. This is a good start point for anyone who wants to expand on their current array of FM and AM stations.
