Guide To Digital Satellite Radio
Radio Stations are also transmitted via Satellites, and in particular there is a great range of stations available on the Sky-Digital platform, that is available throughout the UK.
DSat offers over 70 digital radio channels at the moment, all in crystal clear digital sound easily matching that of FM, and easily surpassing the quality of DAB.
On top of the regular radio stations, you can also receive "Music Choice", which is a bouquet of 10 free radio channels, all DJ free. The music on these channels varies from pop to rock and jazz etc. On top of the free package, you can also subscribe to a further 30 of these DJ free channels, covering all genres of World music.

In order to get Digital Satellite, you of course need a Digital Satellite receiver from SKY. This can be quite expensive if you only want it for radio (As its not subsidised by SKY anymore). But if you subscribe to one of the packages it can work out allot cheaper, plus of course you'll get loads of nice TV channels!
The choice of radio stations available on Sky Digital is amazing, not only do you get all the BBC stations, but you also get dozens of independent radio stations too, along with allot of stations that transmit exclusively on Sky.
The sound quality of the stations on DSat is something you have to hear to believe. Once you have hooked up your set-top box to your hi-fi and start to listen, you will get stations rivalling FM in sound quality. Thankfully you have none of that "fuzzy" or "crackly" (digital artefacts) sounds of DAB, and stations such as "Core" and "6 Music" sound fresh and alive, with plenty of punch.

Conclusion
Ahh, our favourite, Digital Satellite. What more can we really say about this platform? If you want quality sound, quality stations, a vast array of stations both local and national, if you want RADIO full stop, then this is the place to be.
Invest now, apparently sky are offering Sky Digital without subscription for around £120. This is an amazing offer, and its worth it just for the radio stations alone... Go on... You know you want to!
